Michael Corridore is one of Australia’s most prominent photographers, having appeared in every issue of Lürzer’s Archive of the Top 200 photographers worldwide for the past 20 years. His multi-disciplined practice spans commercial and artistic spheres, garnering international success in both, and has grown to include directing with Photoplay Films.
Michael’s widely recognised personal work focuses on humans and their impact on the landscape. His personal work has been exhibited internationally, screened at the New York Photo Festival, won awards such as the Aperture Foundation’s Portfolio Prize and the 2016 Photobook Melbourne Photo Award, and has been selected as a finalist for the National Photographic Portrait Prize, the Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize, and the Bowness Photography Award, amongst numerous others. In 2016 his work was selected for inclusion in the exhibition Belonging as part of the Obscura Festival.
Alongside these personal explorations, Michael has crafted a significant body of commercial work for a wide range of high profile clients who return again and again for his unique eye and skill behind the camera. A selection of awards his commercial work has received includes numerous Gold, Silver and Bronze Lions from the Cannes International Advertising Awards. In 2016 his Film 'the Rip' was shortlisted in the Cannes Lion Film Craft category. He was also short listed for the Bowness Photography Prize in 2022 & 2023.
